Hands on learning around understanding and respecting racial and cultural diversity
MULTICULTURAL OUTREACH
This program offers workshops and presentations on race relations, racial bullying, cultural awareness and sensitivity training for youth, parents, professionals, and community groups. This program aims to improve the community’s ability to effectively address incidents of racial and cultural discrimination, specifically within the school community.
CULTURAL AWARENESS & SENSITIVITY
In the wake of the Syrian crisis, London welcomed more 1,700 Syrian newcomers. One of the key-challenges for these families was to find secure and affordable housing. In response to this need, LUSO provided customized training to housing staff, landlords and
building managers about important cultural differences and how to best support Syrian newcomers residing in their buildings. We currently are preparing to launch the second phase of this project by offering similar training and resources around additional cultural groups.
